Pão Francês

Eating Pão Francês for breakfast is one of Brazil’s most beloved traditions! Eat it warm out of the oven, with butter, or use it to make a delicious sandwich. So easy to make at home that you won’t want to buy store bought ever again!

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 grams (1 ½ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 5 grams (1 ½ teaspoons) sugar
  • 300 ml (1 ¼ cups) lukewarm water
  • 50 grams (¼ cup) sourdough starter(optional)
  • 500 grams (3 ¾ cups) bread flour
  • 12 grams (2 teaspoons) Kosher salt
  • 6 grams (1 teaspoon) unsalted buttersoftened

  • Bench Scraper
  • Bread Lame
