Chocolate Magic Custard Cake

Hello, how are you?
It’s been a long time since I saw this cake on a foreign blog, first in the cream version and then in the chocolate version. I immediately saved the blog to my Favorites, with the idea of testing the recipe straight away, but every time I decided to make it, I remembered one small [literally] detail: the cake requires a small square pan, measuring 20x20cm, and I didn’t have one. I didn’t even want to double the recipe like that the first time, without ever testing it, to use a larger pan.
Last week, looking for another recipe in my favorites, I remembered this cake. And now I had a small pan, ideal! As I had all the ingredients at home and as the preparation is really quite simple, in just over an hour I had the cake ready and cooling.
Well, when it came to cutting, of course I was super suspicious, right? The photo on the website was beautiful, accurate, almost a perfect cube in the shape of a piece of cake, but sometimes these photos deserve a ‘merely illustrative’ rating, such is the difference in the result, even if you follow the step by step exactly. Imagine my look of astonishment/surprise/joy when, after cutting the first piece, I saw that the cake was really like the one in the photo, with a chocolate aroma that would make you dizzy and perfect layers: the top one with the texture of a real cake, the intermediate one, thinner, with a creamy texture and the base one with the texture of chocolate pudding. Beautiful! And it ended quickly, you know?
Hope you like it!
