Ingredients Quantity:
For the Dough:

3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
1 cup whole milk, warmed
2 large eggs
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
For the Custard Filling:

2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
4 large egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla extract
For Frying:

Vegetable oil or canola oil, for frying
Optional Additions:

Powdered sugar, for dusting
Chocolate ganache or fruit preserves, for filling
Lemon zest or orange zest, for added flavor
