Healthier Banana Bread Recipe:

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan with cooking spray or line with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
3. Add in the honey, unsweetened applesauce, almond milk, and vanilla extract. Mix well until all the wet ingredients are fully combined.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
5. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until everything is well combined.
6. If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts and dark chocolate chips.
7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth out the top with a spatula.
8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
9. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing it and placing it on a wire rack to cool completely.
